2011 Schedule of Events
Thursday, April 28th
Arrive in Key West. Take a short cab ride from Key West Airport to your hotel. Most Anglers will be staying at the Key West Westin Resort & Marina- 245 Front Street (305-294-4000), the Ocean Key Resort-Zero Duval Street (305-296-7701) or Pier House Resort and Spa-One Duval Street (305-296-4600). Anglers can pick up their tournament “Ditty Bags” sponsored by and name tags upon arrival at their hotel.
CAPTAINS MEETING & PARTY: Meet your captain from 7:00PM to 8:30PM at Ocean Key Resort Sunset Pier (Zero Duvall Street). Heavy hor d’ oeuvres and cocktails will be served. A team drawing for boats will be held during the meeting and the rules will be reviewed.
Friday, April 29th
BREAKFAST BUFFET – Outside on the Sunset Pier at the Ocean Key Resort-Zero Duval Street, a breakfast sandwich bar will be served between 6:30AM and 7:30AM. After breakfast, teams pick up their box lunches, beverages and taxi vouchers in front of Ocean Key Resort.
FISH THE CHALLENGE – Beginning at 7:30AM, boats will pick-up anglers from Westin Marina, A&B Marina, and the Galleon Marina (three blocks from the Westin). Several teams will be shuttled by taxi from Ocean Key Resort to Key West Bight Marina, Charterboat Row, and King’s Pointe Marina to board their boats. Fish from 8:30AM until lines out of water at 3:30PM; please ask your Captain to call for pick-up on your way in, so a taxi will be waiting for you upon arrival.
LEADER BOARD RECEPTION – Between 6:00PM and 7:00PM team leaders report the day’s catch and turn in score sheets to Findlay Sinclair and Hayden Blaylock at the Pier House (One Duval Street), Sunset Terrace. Anglers can enjoy a cocktail and swap fish stories. Evening is free.
Saturday, April 30th
